James “SplitSuit” Sweeney Biography

James began playing poker in college.  From dorm games at Syracuse University to live poker at Turning Stone Casino, James grew his skills playing a variety of games.  He started playing SNGs and MTTs in 2004 and transitioned over to full ring cash games in 2007.  In between he played a mixture of PLO, PLO8, O8, and 6max.

In 2008 he took on his first student and never looked back.  Since then he’s coached over 450 students, spanning over 25 countries and playing everything from 2NL online to $5/$10 live.  James has also released over 200 poker videos for various sites including PokerStrategy, PokerVIP, PokerArena, ThePokerBank, and his own site SplitSuit.com.  In late 2010 he released his first poker book Dynamic Full Ring Poker: Beyond The Basics under DailyVariance.

Since Black Friday he has been playing semi-professionally in Las Vegas $1/$2 – $2/$5 cash games.  James is still available for both online and live poker coaching from 2NL-50NL online and $1/$2-$2/$5 live games.
