Where is your original hometown, and where do you call home now?

I am originally from a small town in Lithuania, Eastern Europe. Now I resident in the beautiful capital city of my country – Vilnius – and travel around quite a bit. If you ever visit this country, let me know, and we can have some fun together, or I will recommend you few good places!

Where specifically are we most likely to see you playing cards these days?

For the last 6 years, I almost exclusively play online, so we can meet at the tables on MPN network or PokerStars cash games.

When and how did you start playing poker?

It all started back in 2008 with casual home games at the dorm of my university. However, it did not take me long to fall in love with the game and even started playing it professionally in the same year.

When and how did you decide to play poker professionally/seriously?

After playing home games with my friends, I quickly fell in love with the game and found a fabulous world of online poker. After playing online for a few weeks, I realized that I could be making much more money than in any job that was available for a student at that time and never looked back.

What do you consider your proudest poker achievements?

I am quite happy that I took down 2.000€ buy-in EPT side event back in the days when I was playing live and have few online MTT wins under my belt as well. However, it’s hard to list big achievements when playing cash games because these are not one time hits. Therefore, if I have to pick one, I would say that I am most proud of my poker coaching blog!

When and how did you start coaching others (please include a specific year)?

It all started from few friends asking for help to improve their games, and after seeing good results, I started helping others in 2013. It took me some time to understand what the best way to teach others is and how I can help them the most. Therefore, officially I started coaching foreign players just in 2014 and until then was only helping locals in Lithuania.

What is your coaching specialty? Do you consider yourself a ‘specialist’ in any games, and if so, please say which games and why.

I have probably played all formats of NLHE. I played tournaments, heads-ups, sit and goes and even spin & goes. However, for the last 5 years, I concentrate on playing and teaching 6-max cash games, which is by far my strongest game and I know I can help anyone to improve their strategy in this format.

What is your goal in providing coaching through Red Chip Poker? What do you hope to achieve for our members?

My goal is to help as many players as I can and give them a chance to see a wonderful life that poker can bring. Therefore, I am thrilled to join RCP community and have an opportunity to share my tips with anyone looking to improve.

There are many misconceptions about poker strategy, discipline, and life in general. Therefore, I will be more than happy to answer all these questions and show how to have some fun while learning and improving your game.

Please share a coaching success story with us:

There are quite a few notable stories, some players were able to quit their daytime jobs and became poker professionals, other moved from micro stakes to big games online.

Moreover, I am extremely proud that I helped many recreational players to turn their hobby into a profitable venture. Right now playing just after work, they make even more money than in their jobs. What could be better, right?

However, the story that I will never forget comes from my first student who now crushes nosebleeds, travels around the world and became much better player than me.

And this is my goal, to give everything I can, teach the basics, show how to adjust and point you in the right direction. Everything else is in your hands, and only the sky is the limit.

Do you have a professional career / background outside of poker? If so, please describe in brief.

With quite reasonable money coming from poker I was lucky enough to start few investment projects in the renewable energy field and even develop a business of my own.

Moreover, I started consulting other on personal effectiveness. It led me to some mentoring work in Lithuania and even introduction to my blog where I plan to share all my knowledge how you can do more, faster and in an efficient way. Therefore, you can look at my first article about reaching life goals.

What are your favorite hobbies and pursuits outside of poker?

I love to travel, and I just cannot live without my bicycle. Therefore, it’s hard to find me sitting around if I am not playing or doing poker related stuff.

It led me to a recent accident where I fell from my bike and went down from a hill. Now it is a funny story to tell because I was lucky to get away only with a few scratches and after getting my bike fixed, I conquered that mountain and added another win to my belt.
