A GAME

The state at which you are making the best decisions you are capable of in every moment.

ABC

A straightforward, basic TAG strategy involving playing only premium hands, playing them aggressively, and typically folding to aggression without nuttish hands.

ABSOLUTE HAND VALUE

The value of two hole cards in a vaccuum, without regards to any actions that have taken place, board texture, etc.

ACE-X

Any hand with an ace and a low kicker, typically suited when we talk about opening Ax preflop.

AIR

Hole cards which have value only as a bluff.

ALL-IN

Committing all of your chips in a single bet or raise.

ANACONDA

Poker variant in which each player is dealt seven cards, then passes a total of three to one or more neighbors. Some variants involve discarding two cards to leave a five-card hand. A.k.a. "pass the trash."

ANGLE SHOOT

An ambiguous action a player takes. He waits for more information or a reaction before clarifying his intent. Often one that's bending the rules, or at least goes against the spirit of the game.

ATB

Abbreviation "Any Two Broadway" cards.
